During a recent appearance on KSLX, Van Halen singer David Lee Roth discussed the health of guitarist Eddie Van Halen, sharing a few unsettling rumors.
Addressing the group’s current state, David said: “I’m the face of Van Halen from this point on, most likely. I’m not sure what’s happening with Ed, but he’s probably not gonna answer the bell this time. And it’s not my place to guess. But we’ve been in touch. The fellows who I’m working with in terms of my road crew and the amps come from Van Halen.”
Directly asked whether he is implying that Van Halen has been dealing with health issues of some sort, the singer replied:
“I hear all the same rumors that you do and it’s not my place to guess.”
Earlier this year, rumors were strong that Van Halen’s classic lineup was gearing up to reunite for the first time since 1984 for a world tour. It’s still not clear why nothing happened; however, there have been rumors online that Eddie’s health setback might have been the main reason.
